Eliminate Credit Card Debt - The Long, Winding Road
It it was incredibly easy to just up and eliminate credit card debt, everyone would do it. Not only that, but they'd do it right now, again and again whenever they used the plastic and racked up even the slightest amount of debt. No one likes credit card debt, but it is just a thing we all need to live with, to cope with and keep on pushing against till the day we finally up-tail and die - or is it?
A real possibility to eliminate credit card debt
If you're looking to do something about your credit card debts, you need to begin small. Yet even this first small step can prove too huge for the average consumer:
Small step #1
Stop using credit cards.
Go ahead and laugh, convince yourself that you can just ditch the card at any time you choose - now go ahead and try to do it. Most of us will be simply unable to live a life without credit, yet how are we supposed to eliminate credit card debt if we keep using credit cards in the meantime? The key is to use your credit cards only when you absolutely need to or if you know that you can pay back the amount that you have spent by the next billing period.
Small step #2
Initiate debt reduction.
Don't even think about getting rid of your entire debt unless you use a consolidation loan, which is a debt in itself, so its still around. No, you have to go in steps, taking s,mall chunks out of your credit card misery and continually fight against the temptation and urges - even needs - to use credit cards in the future.
And after all is said and done and you have effectively paid off your debt, take those lessons that you have learned and apply them to the next credit card that you secure. Don't let it run your financial life again, take back the reins!
